i didn’t think it was an addiction
i didn’t think it was an addiction. i still don’t really, not for me. but my therapist told me that it was, yesterday. i told her ‘no, i can stop at any time i want, i haven’t done it this week.’
i just did it again. i can’t help it i feel so pathetic. the one thing i was looking forward to was my future, it was the one thing keeping me alive. and now i just got rejected from both universities in one go. the only thing i wanna study and they’re not even supposed to be difficult to get into, everyone told me not to worry, that it was be easy. well maybe i deserve this and i’m just stupid. i feel embarrassed. pathetic. like a disappointment. i don’t wanna get up today. i don’t wanna talk to anyone i know. i don’t even wanna tell anyone.
Hey, I’m glad you reached out!
I’m 17 and just finished college sign-ups and I know how much it sucks to get rejected from the schools you wanted to go to. I’m sorry this happened and I hope you find another school or they accept a re-appeal.
For starters, I want to ask that you please stop hurting yourself. I understand that it might feel good for a moment, but remember that your hurting yourself, you can’t let that escalate to a point where it becomes severe. Try talking to your parents or your friends and find comfort in the things you love. Remember there are people in your life that care for you and want to see you succeed. They don’t want to see you hurt, much less hurting yourself, they care about you. Try eating healthy and practicing self-love. Do the things you like and spend time with people you find to be good.
Next, college.
Again, I know it sucks when you don’t get accepted somewhere. But what you could do is try finding another school to apply to for now. Work your hardest to do your best academically. You could still maybe get into that school after a year or two in another. You could still be great and follow your path, just know that this little rut goes away and you will feel better.
The fact that you know what you want not only makes it great, but it makes you a dedicated person! Don’t let that go! Work towards it and achieve your goals! You got this!
@lz204 it is an addiction, like a really bad coping skill, you return to.
@lz204 Heyyy, no need to beat yourself up. it can happen to the best of us. There is no point in feeling like a pathetic. Just make sure that your stop now. Try to think happy thoughts. And hey, I just found a great article, for you. Here are some great movies that you should watch while you are on working your addictions.
