Holidays Support Thread - You are not alone!
Hello every-amazing-one! 
I want to wish you all happy holidays!
Although, I know that holidays can be tough and may be overwhelming. A lot of emphasis is being put of just enjoying it and being merry and happy and I know very well that it can be a really hard part of the year.
I mean, this post is just to remind you that no matter what, your mental health comes first and it is okay to not be all that merry around this time of the year. This thread is always open for you if you would ever like to vent or you do ever need support.
Just remember you are not alone and you and your feelings do matter and are important. No matter the time of the year we are in this together and we can get through this together :)
Do not worry about burdening or pulling anyone down and remember that it is completely okay and normal to feel down around this time of the year as well. If there is anything on your mind please do not hesitate to reach out to us here or any way you may feel comfortable during the holidays or, really anytime. :)

Thank you this is very encouraging. I went to a family Christmas party last night and for the most part it was alright. I have a lot of differeing opinions then them but I keep quiet cause its just not worth it (and I hate confrontation). It sucks sometimes faking that I have the same opinions when I don't, but I know theres people I can express myself to. The real me. Some of them made comments (jokingly but king of hurtful) about how much I was eating. I laughed it of saying 'I'm still growing' or 'I'm saving up for my new years diet' but it definately did not help my already fragile body image. I know I have put on some weight and its been bothering me but you know I'm healthy and thats what matters.

I am sorry to hear that you have had such a tough time at that Christmas party with your family.
It can really be a tough time around people who should be supporting of you but they are not really acting like that. Also, it can really stir up a lot of feelings and just all those different opinions can be tough but probably not conronting them is the best way to act with those relatives you do not see often otherwise.
Also, I know that this time of the year can be tough when it comes to weight management but it is important to note that you are trying your very best and it is okay to maybe gain a little bit of weight around this time. Although, pointing it out as you have mentioned is definitely not okay.
I mean, I just want you to know that we are always here for you and if there is anything we may be able to help you with or you would just like to vent we are always here for you :)

My son has a 2, in Jan., year old daughter. We will not get any time whit them to ourselves this Christmas. Christmas Day we are having, my daughter, my son's family, and his wives family over for dinner. My son and his family will be at her families place for Christmas Eve and morning, just them. Having my son's family, just them and us, not this year. When they do come over to our house they stay about 1 1/2 hours, eat and leave. Her mother capitalizes all of Jordyns time we see her very little, to see hee we take leave from our jobs to babysit when they are in a jam.

That sounds tough. I am sorry to hear that you will not be able to spend some time with your granddaughter.
I do wonder if you could maybe talk with your son a little bit to address this. Not at Christmas time necessarily, but just to maybe be able to spend some more time with his daughter - or just at least express your feelings to him regarding this.
Although, I understand that family issues like this can really be very complicated and maybe it is not just easy sometimes to bring it up and talk through it, it is just an idea tho, no pressure.
Either way tho, I would like you to know that we are here for you if you would ever like to vent or if there is anything we my be able to help you with :)

It's hard to remember that we don't have to be all merry and bright. Holidays are hard here - especially christmas. It's really nice to see this post - alittle reminder that it's ok to not be ok - even if it is christmas

Your feelings are always valid and important. I know it can just feel like something is wrong with you when everyone is happy about you and celebrating Christmas and you just cannot force happiness on yourself but it is okay. We are always glad to have you here with us, no matter what. :)
