Reaching Out

I am terrified to reach out. 7 cups is the most I have reached out to anyone about sh. I've been dealing with this on my own for almost three years now. I don't know if I should reach out to anyone. I guess I just need a reason to tell someone, should I even tell anyone? Will it really help if I do? I'm not quite sure how to put my thoughts into words here but I guess I just want to ask, is it worth telling someone? Can someone else really help me? If I'm getting better on my own should I still tell someone?

I know how scary and uncertain it can be to reach out for help when you are struggling. I have to tell you that I'm so glad you are here and have shared a little of what you're dealing with. I remember before I reached out for help how daunting it was and how it seemed like it might not even do any good. When I finally did, it was the best decision I made. I realized I didn't want to struggle anymore, and the only way to get out of my negative behaviors was to share what I was going through with other people. I am glad that you've felt a little more comfortable talking here on 7 Cups, so if you just want to chat or practice opening up to people I am here. Just message me and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. I'm proud of you and you've got this!

ahhhh i can understand the fear and nervousness you must be feeling right now-to want to reach out but also not knowing how others would take it. i went through a similar thing during my first year of undergrad and found that it hurt more from not telling anyone and trying to hide it away and pretend that it wasn't happening. so if there are people in your life that you trust and feel would meet you where you are at and will support you and your experience-hold those people close. because you deserve to feel understood and your feelings, thoughts and experience are valid and you absolutely do not have to figure it all out on your own(there are people who genuinely care for you and love you and want what is best for you even though your brain might try to convince you otherwise) sending lots of love your way and take care heart
