Recovery and Relapse - Your Story!
Hey Amazing Community!
This forum is about relapsing in your recovery and a spcae for you to reach out and get support during your struggles. Relapse is a challenge for many people and for some it can become part of recovery. Remember it is okay to have a relapse and stumble in your progress, look at how far you have come already your journey has been amazing to have even come this far. Whether you have been clean for an hour, a day, a week a month, years - it doesn't matter its that you are trying to recover and that is so important and it's a huge and great step in recovery.
This is a safe non-judgemental space to share about your experience when relapsing or having urges to self-harm. You are not alone and there are people here to support you through this.
I was at 3 months clean from cuts although I had gone through a few more minor self harm slips, but I felt like I was really doing better. When I relapsed and cut again I was somewhat angry at because it does feel a bit like you've failed yourself. Onwards though... recently it's been rough and it seems as if I'm cutting more than before, like I've slipped further since relapsing. I don't know if this is because subconciously I'm thinking that I've already failed so why try and stop or if it's just because of the things happening and emotions they're bringing on. Maybe a mix of both. I know I need to not think of my relapse as a failure but to instead take it as a bump in the road and just carry on. I'm struggling to get around that a bit right now, but hopefully I will.
