Angry and thinking about pouring myself a stiff drink

I've been heavily drinking for about 9 years, but I function so it's not visible. I want to stop drinking and I want to try to get better, but it's my go-to antidote for anger (nothing else works), and I get angry on a daily basis because life is bad. It's a losing battle.

@RantingSnail

🥺

I'm sorry you are struggling so much.

I appreciate your honesty.

I can only imagine how difficult it would be to change habits and put new and healthier coping mechanisms in place, but it is possible, you just have to give yourself permission to try 💜💕

@RantingSnailIt sounds like you’ve been using drinking as a way to manage anger and pain for a long time, and now you’re feeling trapped by it. Wanting to stop shows real strength — even if it feels impossible right now. You deserve support in finding healthier ways to cope and slowly building a life that doesn’t depend on alcohol to get through the day.
