Depression drinking
How do you know when to stop. I really messed up big time the other day. Drinking is going to cause me to lose everything.
@Marie0023
Just think about how good life is without the need to drink, everyone is different, just try to stay busy and keep your mind off of it
I just celebrated two years of sobriety.
It gets better. Right now, you need help. Do you have a doctor you can talk to? If you have health insurance, most policies can help you get support.
I don't know anyone who got sober alone. Reach out to someone. AA helped me, but it's not the only solution.

First, I want to applaud you for your bravery for even posting this. It's a scary thing to admit that you're on a slippery slope but it's amazing that you have this outlet and people to genuinely support you.
It's not easy, alcohol is a natural inhibitor. It can help in the moment but not in the long run. You've already experienced the downside of it and ultimately it will be your choice on where things go from here. You have to look towards the future and what you want your future to look like. What are you goals? What are your dreams?
Once you figure that out, you can implement steps to work towards them. As someone already stated, asking for help is essential to starting a new path. It's hard to accept the fact that you need help but it is the first step to becoming sober.
As I always say, BABY STEPS are okay! Be kind to yourself, things that are worth it are usually never easy. Lean on the people that love you and want to see you succeed. You will always have 7 Cups of Tea as well so don't forget to use all of their resources! Connect to a listener 1 on 1 when you feel the urge to drink, call a friend to distract you, pick up a new hobby. As I always say, you are NOT alone. There are so many people that have been where you're at so remember that it is possible to come back and strive after this bump in the road. Stay safe, and don't forget to be kind to yourself !
Here is one page I found on tips, you can copy and paste it into your address bar or just plug it into google. If you plug it into google, it will be a pdf file named Living Sober- Alcoholics Anonymous
