Hi. I don’t really drink. I used to drink every day, but then I stopped for years when I realized how bad it had gotten. About a year ago I started drinking again with the rule of never having alcohol in my house. I’ve drank a handful of times since then but every time I do, unless I’m at a restaurant, I don’t cut myself off. I drink until I’m close to passing out. After a recent incident I’ve decided that alcohol and me don’t mix because I don’t know how to stop once I start. I don’t really have any questions, I just want others to see that alcohol issues aren’t just drinking everyday. I’m done with alcohol and how I am when I drink. I’m just scared that in a year I’ll forget what this feeling is like and go back to drinking again.

This is a great message for people to see and understand - an unhealthy relationship with alcohol can manifest itself in a number of ways, outside of the stereotypelical daily-drinker. Also, I think attending meetings and/or visiting these forums regularly can help to remind ourselves how drinking can talk over, if we allow it the chance.

Hang in there , I drink to get drunker and I know it’s not good so I’m going to try and stop again . I went 2.5 years sober then had ptsd anxiety and guilt then I stayed sober for years again but started drinking heavy again . It’s time for me to stop again and deal with my anxiety .
