My problem
I've been drinking for a while now. In the last month it's gotten worse. I drink to the point of blacking out and waking up in peculiar situations. I deal with issues in my life and I think what I'm doing is "coping". I know there's no one to blame but myself. I've tried to get clean but it's a struggle. I haven't drank in a week but with alcohol in the house it does get hard. I'm just hoping to get help before I end up doing something i would regret or hurting loved ones.
I'm sorry you're going through this, but being here and expressing these thoughts out loud is a first step worth taking. You are seen, heard, and understood. Most importantly, you are worth taking care of - don't ever forget that.
You are worth the time and work. Please be well, and know that the time and effort will reap benefits.
Hi @Ali141,
I feel you - I've been there. As Halcyon pointed out already - you did a first step already by coming here, and talking about it. And in my experience this means a lot, because if you talked about it, you can't deny that there is already a progress running.
If you get the chance, try to find professionals that can provide you with an outside view (that you can't have on your own), and can work with you on some more healthy coping strategies. This can actually be fun, be empowering, getting you back behind the wheel. These people don't judge, they don't push you, they are just professional and are on your side.
I wish you all the best!
