Understanding addiction

So I understand how addiction works and have grown up around it, seen it first hand in many cases and have studied the psychology around it, and I believe I have a reasonable grasp on the topic. However, everyone around me has told me I have a problem, and that I need to get help etc, but I don’t think I don’t know whether I’m actually addicted or not. Can anyone help me?

Thanks

No matter what people say, only you will decide when it is time to consider that there is a problem Nd helpnis needed. Within ourselves, the answer to the question is highly subjective. To help objectify your analysis, Google drinking or alcohol use and many opportunities to explore signs of abuse or overuse will populate. I would be aware of calling it an addiction or using the word alcoholic, because that becomes your identity. Nobody wants their identity to be an illness or weakness. Rather, overuse or abuse is a part of your multifaceted person, to be explored as a part of it.
