Worried for a Friend
I'm a freshman in high school and one of my closest friends (who is the same age as me) is known for making irrational decisions. Though I usually tell myself that it's her life and she can do what she wants, I've recently become concerned for her health and I think I should intervene. She's been drinking these past few weeks as a way to cope with stress, which is obviously an unhealthy habit for a teen to have. Her parents are completely oblivious to this and her other friends most likely know, but aren't willing to do anything about it. How do I help her without compromising our friendship?

It is extremely difficult and I feel sorry for ypur fruend since she is now in a hard situation...doing something behind her back is not helpful, it will only shock her and make her have bad feelings...I think you might try to talk to her, slowly, ask her if she needs help and why she resorted to drinkong, because of problems or fun and social popularity...showher tgat you are her friend and that she can confide in you...
As friends it is very hard not being to help our friends (my live has left me saying "I cannot help you, you do not want to be helped"...), so see, it is hard, but as loyal caring friends we can be there for our friends, supportive and and anchor and grounding spotif they chose to take it...do not take it on yourself to fix ot, but talk carefully to her and be there for her...
@OldSerendipityBoat Thank you so much for the advice! ❤️
