Numbing myself with marijuana
I’ve been told countless times that you can’t be addicted to marijuana. But I’ve started wondering since my tolerance has surpassed my partner’s. I used to be a lightweight but now I need an edible, several rips off a pen, and half a joint to numb myself. Every. Single. Day.
Not only does it cost more than I’d like, I feel like it’s making me paranoid. Maybe not in the moment I’m high but afterwards. My memory has gotten worse which could be unrelated but I don’t know.
I feel like I might be addicted. Because if nothing is going on, I’m high. If I’m at home, I’m high. If I’m getting ready for bed, I’ve got to get high first. I’m high nearly half the time and I feel like that’s ridiculous.
I know I’ve stopped before and it felt nice. I felt fresh and clean as strange as it might sound. It felt nice to not have to rely on something to make my feelings go away.
And my friends call me a stick in the mud or not as fun. I don’t want to kill their vibe. I just want to not rely on it anymore. I want it to be something I want to do instead of something I feel like I need to do.
Does anyone else struggle with this?

Don't worry about what your friends think.
It doesn't make you boring or a stick in the mud
I often laugh when people say this, because what's fun about needing something to make you fun.
Being paranoid doesnt sound fun to me.
This is an addiction like any other and one million percent you'd feel more in control and so much better when you stopped.
Sometimes the people around us like to keep us at they know us, but you need to do what makes you happy and true friends will respect that.
No matter your choice, I wish you the genuine best 💚🤗

Truth is, I'm also an addict. Addict on food. I turn to stress eating and rely on it whenever things go hard, and it has resulted on me getting too big. I weighed heavier and it's somewhat been making my daily life a little hard. But there was a time that no matter how delicious the food I ate, or how many I ate, it didn't satisfy me. But I'm already so big and so full. That is when I felt like you, that I didn't want to rely on food. Because I know it's not really the answer to my negative emotions...It meant something like, I have to get stronger mentally and wiser emotionally, and I've been striving with that... Though I can't really let go of it all at once. That's why I just wanna tell you, you are not alone. We all strive at one time or the other.. And it's a good thing that you decided to let go of your addict of marijuana and instead do something that you wanna do, not what you need to do... You can do it!
