functioning alcoholic
i'm new here.
i'm finding that this thread doesn't exist yet. so i created it in hopes of finding others like myself. i was in denial for a long time because my bills were paid, my kid had everything she needed/wanted, i had a damn good job and did it well. i thought i was just having fun or "winding down". it was the only way i knew how to turn off work and the worry of how my store was operating in my absence. i was the boss so i was never off. when my child began asking me every time i had a cup if it was booze-that was my first glimpse of awareness. im only a week sober but id enjoy a few tips or support. accountability would be very helpful right now.
I have the same issue! Bills are paid, fsmily is healthy and happy, my house is clean, I work and raise the baby. But I'm starting to have a couple drinks a day and my body is hurting from it. I think I've been fighting depression and i pour a glass as a treat to myself or as a suppressant. One week sober? Congrats 👏 we just need to wean off the habit I guess
