i feel suffocated
i already live in a small home. and sometimes i feel like my parents are so careless.
i do rigorous school plans that require me to do lots of homework. i am unable to concentrate most of the time because no room in the house is quiet enough for me to hear myself even think. there’s always people fighting, screaming, or devices that are too loud.
my parents keep bringing people into the house when we barely live in it comfortably. there’s kids that stay in out house since 7am till 11pm. i am tired. tired of the people around me and tired of not having any space nor privacy. i feel suffocated. it’s not like we’re some babysitting club either, no one pays anyone. they stay in my house for free. they shower here, they eat here, they go wherever we go. and my parents refuse to say something.
i try to express myself but they don’t listen. they treat me as the villan, the girl who hates everyone, the one that no one likes because i’m too sour and mean and angry. but my life has never been quiet and i’m just getting tired of that.
i know this is too much but i have no one to talk to. my family doesn’t listen, my friends don’t feel like friends, and i don’t want to vent in some social media platform because i’ll feel weird.
i have asked my mom for a therapist but i can tell she didn’t take me seriously.
what can i do? im running out of patience and i don’t want to do something i’ll regret later on in life.
@cherryflowerspie awww sweetie that must be really hard for you 😥 space and privacy are very important to all people. I don't think your gonna get anywhere trying to explain over and over again to your parents about your feelings🙁 is there a nearby library you can go and do your homework for some space and quiet time?? Or perhaps a youth club, maybe they have a place you can go to have some alone time. I'm sorry your having to deal with all this, I hope your situation changes for the better soon. Gives you a giant tiny hug ❤
@cherryflowerspie
Hey there,
First off, I just want to say I’m really sorry you’re feeling this way. It sounds incredibly tough, and it’s completely understandable to feel overwhelmed with everything going on.
One thing that might help is finding small moments of peace for yourself, even if they’re just a few minutes. Maybe try taking a short walk outside, listening to calming music with headphones, or finding a cozy corner to read or relax in, even if it’s not perfectly quiet. Sometimes these little breaks can make a big difference.
It's really important that you’re trying to express how you feel. Keep doing that, even if it seems like no one is listening. Writing down your thoughts in a journal might help too – it can be a good way to get your feelings out when talking doesn’t seem to work.
As for therapy, maybe try talking to a school counselor or another trusted adult. They might be able to help you find resources or talk to your parents about the importance of getting some professional support.
Lastly, remember that it’s okay to feel angry or frustrated – those are totally valid feelings. Try to be kind to yourself and recognize that you’re doing the best you can in a really challenging situation.
I’m rooting for you and hope things get better soon. Hang in there.
I will try to reconnect more with nature, taking short walks sounds peaceful. i did try to keep a diary once but people read it so that kinda discouraged me to write down my thoughts in a journal. i will look into some type of online writing tool though! thank you for being understanding and trying to help, it means so much to me. 🫶🏼
@cherryflowerspie I completely understand your irritability. They put a lot of pressure on you to study but don't provide you with an environment that satisfies your needs. This is really annoying. The same thing happened to me. My solution is to stay away from this annoying place as much as possible. I would choose to go to a cafe or library, etc., or even go to a classmate's house to do homework together. Before that, I still hope you can communicate with your family to see if they can solve this problem. If not, tell them: you also need a quiet environment to get good grades.
@cherryflowerspie hey don’t put so much pressure on yourself please, do you want to have a chat with me , please message!
