Hey everyone! I’ve been thinking about how little we sometimes talk about certain parts of our health that are, well, a bit more personal.

For example, have you ever noticed little things that affect your mood or confidence throughout the month and wondered if anyone else experiences the same? Or those small self-care habits that make you feel a little sexier and more confident without anyone else knowing?

I’d love to hear your thoughts, tips, or even just funny experiences. Let’s share and see what little secrets make us feel amazing from the inside out

@LanaAfterDark

Thank you 🥰

As women we shy away from talking about such things.

At certain times of the month, I feel bloated, tired, overwhelmed, exhausted.

What makes me feel better about myself, is getting dressed up, makeup on, hair done and a great big pair of heels 😁

The reason we don’t talk about these things enough is sexism. Women’s health issues are dismissed, laughed at, and treated as something shameful or taboo. We grow up learning to keep quiet about things like periods, or anything related to our female bodies.

But the truth is, the menstrual cycle and hormonal changes can really affect mood, energy, and well-being.

The best advice is to take care of our health and well-being as much as we can, mentally and physically.

@LanaAfterDark Hey - I used to have these fluctuations throughout the month before I got on oral contraceptives that stopped my cycle! Not having those monthly hormone changes really does make me feel different - like the highs are not as high and the lows are not as low. I don't miss the inconvenience and pain of it - plus, it's cheaper to buy birth control than period products, which says something about pink tax!
