About Elders Program

APIA's Elders Program in King Salmon, AK is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for our senior community by providing comprehensive support services and assistance with basic needs. We offer a variety of essential programs, including caregiver training, case management, and durable medical equipment, to empower our elders and their families. Our initiative also features consumer-directed personal care assistant (PCA) services, respite services, and education on fall and injury prevention. We assist with Medicare and Medicaid enrollment, promote community engagement through the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), and distribute monthly Elder Food Boxes. Additionally, we foster connection through monthly teas and potlucks, ensure transportation for elders in the Anchorage area, and advocate for elder rights. Our training programs, such as Gatekeeper Training and Older Adult Mental Health First Aid, emphasize a holistic approach to senior care, ensuring our elders receive the support, resources, and respect they deserve.
