The Senior Farmers Markets Nutrition Program (SFMNP) in Phoenix, AZ, is dedicated to enhancing the access of low-income seniors to fresh, nutritious, and locally grown food sources. Our annual program provides essential resources such as SFMNP vouchers and Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) boxes, allowing seniors to enjoy unprepared fruits, vegetables, honey, and herbs from local farmers markets and roadside stands. Qualifying seniors receive a booklet with up to six SFMNP vouchers or can opt for up to three CSA boxes, improving their health and wellbeing through better nutrition. Vouchers can only be used at authorized markets during designated times, normally distributed starting February 1st each year, with adjustments based on availability and the growing season.
