Heroes' Mile offers a specialized recovery environment exclusively for veterans struggling with substance use disorders. Located on a secluded 10-acre campus in Deland, Florida, this Joint Commission-accredited facility provides both inpatient and outpatient treatment options tailored to the unique needs of military personnel. The program specifically addresses the impacts of post-traumatic stress and military sexual trauma experienced during service. Treatment incorporates a comprehensive range of evidence-based approaches including individual counseling, group therapy, recreational therapy, family and marriage counseling, and nutrition education. Veterans participate in 12 Step meetings and engage in therapeutic activities such as art therapy, equine therapy, and physical fitness. The tranquil campus features private and shared bedrooms, outdoor lounging areas, a scenic pond, and recreational facilities including basketball and volleyball courts. Family members of clients can also access dedicated counseling services. Heroes' Mile works with both private and public insurance providers to make treatment accessible to those who have served our country.
