The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Merritt Island, FL, is dedicated to empowering individuals to become advocates for a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic equity. Through comprehensive organic food system education, our Fellowship supports selected participants in gaining hands-on experience in sustainable farming practices, community food distribution, and innovative health education initiatives. Over six months at the Allegheny Farm Campus, Fellows engage in immersive training and then transition to a Community Action Year, where they collaborate with regional non-profit organizations to implement initiatives such as maintaining school gardens, promoting food literacy, and enhancing local farmers markets. We believe in making this transformative experience accessible, which is why we do not charge tuition. Applications are accepted until March each year, with program activities running from May through October.
