Family First Adolescent Services provides specialized treatment for boys ages 13-18 struggling with mental health conditions, substance use disorders, and dual diagnoses. Their trauma-informed approach addresses the root causes of problematic behaviors and thoughts. With an impressive 3:1 staff-to-client ratio, their multidisciplinary team treats conditions including C-PTSD, depression, anxiety, trauma, ADHD/ADD, gaming and internet addiction, and substance use disorders. The program's unique 5-in-7 care method ensures teens connect with their primary therapist five times during their first week, creating an immersive start to recovery. Treatment incorporates evidence-based therapies including CBT, DBT, EMDR, equine therapy, somatic therapy, and expressive arts. Boys also participate in engaging experiential activities such as paddleboarding, wakeboarding, paintball, surfing, kayaking, deep-sea fishing, CrossFit, yoga, and weight training in the on-site gym. Family involvement is central to the treatment approach, with weekly support groups, progress updates, and family therapy sessions that promote healing for the entire family unit. The center also provides comprehensive academic services, maintaining collaboration with students' home schools while offering dual enrollment courses through Palm Beach State College, test preparation for ACT, SAT, and PERT, and assistance with college financial aid applications. After completing the primary program, clients receive a full year of aftercare support including weekly check-ins and twice-weekly meetings. Local teens can transition to their intensive outpatient program, which includes three weekly group sessions and individual therapy. For those from out of town, Family First facilitates connections with appropriate continuing care services in their home communities, from therapy and therapeutic boarding schools to local intensive outpatient programs.
