Meals on Wheels Sarasota is dedicated to alleviating food insecurity and providing essential support to individuals who are homebound due to physical, social, or economic challenges. Located in Sarasota, FL, our mission is to serve those who wish to remain independent in their own homes but are unable to shop or prepare meals for themselves. We focus on delivering nutritious, heart-healthy meals that meet Recommended Daily Intake (RDI) standards, ensuring a low sodium, lower fat, and lower sugar fare that caters to the diverse dietary needs of our clients. Beyond meal delivery, our service includes daily safety checks and vital social interaction, helping to combat isolation among our members. Each delivery not only brings a warm meal but also fosters meaningful connections between our clients and volunteers, creating a strong community bond. We also recognize the needs of our members who are pet owners, providing them with pet food through our PetLove Program, and we offer a free Drug Deactivation System to help safely dispose of unused medications. While we suggest a donation of $6.00 per meal, we believe in serving everyone in need, regardless of their ability to pay. Our commitment is to ensure that no one in Sarasota goes hungry or feels alone.
