Ivy Houses' Independent Living Program (ILP) in Albany, GA is dedicated to empowering foster youth aged 18-21 as they transition from the foster care system into independent adulthood. Our program offers a nurturing support system coupled with essential services, ensuring participants are equipped with the necessary skills to thrive. Through ILP, we provide safe residential housing, basic necessities, independent living skills training, financial literacy education, job readiness support, and focus on health and wellbeing. Participants can join the program for up to three years, with the first year of services provided free of charge, followed by a modest rent and utility contribution based on income, all of which is returned as savings upon program completion. Young adults interested in joining can reach out to Ivy Houses and work with their case manager for a referral, and we also offer transportation for those living outside Albany. Our mission is to create a pathway to independence for foster youth, fostering resilience and confidence in their journey to adulthood.
