The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Athens, GA, is dedicated to empowering individuals to advocate for a food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic justice. Offering a tuition-free program, the Fellowship enables participants to gain comprehensive organic food system education through hands-on learning experiences at the Allegheny Farm in Virginia. Throughout the six-month immersive training, Fellows engage in growing and distributing diverse crops, implementing innovative health education, maintaining community and school gardens, and fostering food literacy. They also support farmers markets and develop distribution channels that enhance access to healthy foods. Following their training, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with local non-profits to apply their skills and make a lasting impact. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the program running from May to October.
