About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Cleveland, GA, is dedicated to fostering a food system that is equitable, sustainable, and thriving. We empower emerging leaders by providing comprehensive training in organic food systems, enabling them to serve as teachers and advocates for social, environmental, and economic justice. Our program is designed to be accessible, as we do not charge tuition for participation. Fellows engage in hands-on experiences at our Allegheny Farm, where they learn to grow and distribute a diverse range of crops, create educational workshops focused on innovative healthcare, and nurture school and community gardens. They also gain skills in promoting food literacy and directly support farmers markets and community food initiatives. Following an immersive six-month training period, each Fellow embarks on a Community Action Year, applying their knowledge in collaboration with local non-profits to further enhance food access and strengthen community ties. Applications are accepted until March, with the fellowship experience typically spanning from May through October.
