About Women, Infants and Children (WIC)

The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Supplemental Nutrition Program in Columbus, GA, is dedicated to improving the health and nutrition of our community's most vulnerable members: infants, young children, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and postpartum women. Our mission is to provide essential food assistance and nutrition support to families with incomes at or below 185 percent of the federal poverty level or those enrolled in Medicaid who are at risk for nutritional deficiencies. WIC offers participants access to vital resources, including vouchers for nutritious foods from authorized vendors, nutrition education, health screenings, and referrals to additional health and social services. To qualify for WIC, low-income caregivers of children under five, along with pregnant, breastfeeding, or postpartum women, should complete the WIC Eligibility Assessment available on Georgia’s WIC website. We encourage you to contact your local WIC office for assistance in navigating the application process and to find out what documents are needed for your visit.
