About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Dallas, GA, empowers dedicated individuals to become advocates for a just and sustainable food system. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this fellowship offers a tuition-free program focused on organic food system education and community engagement. Selected Fellows engage in immersive training at our Allegheny Farm Campus, where they learn to grow and distribute diversified crops, implement health education, maintain community gardens, and promote food and ecological literacy in schools. The Fellowship encourages collaboration with local partners to enhance access to healthy foods through farmers markets and direct-to-consumer initiatives. After six months of hands-on learning, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, applying their expertise in partnership with regional non-profits to create lasting impact. Applications are open until March each year, with the fellowship experience running from May to October.
