About Women, Infants and Children (WIC)
The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Supplemental Nutrition Program in Dalton, GA, is dedicated to promoting the health and nutrition of low-income families. Serving pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, postpartum women, and children up to the age of five, WIC provides essential food assistance to those at nutritional risk, including foster children. Our program offers valuable resources such as nutrition assessments, health screenings, and education on healthy eating practices. Participants access special checks for nutritious foods at authorized vendors and receive referrals to other critical health and social services. WIC is available to families with incomes at or below 185 percent of the federal poverty level or those enrolled in Medicaid. To start the process, we encourage interested individuals to take the WIC Eligibility Assessment on Georgia's WIC website to see if they qualify, and to schedule an appointment at their local WIC office for personalized assistance.
