About Women, Infants and Children (WIC)
The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Supplemental Nutrition Program in Decatur, GA, is dedicated to improving the health and nutrition of infants, young children, and mothers. Our federally-funded program specifically supports pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and postpartum women, alongside children up to age five, who are at risk for nutritional deficiencies. Families with incomes at or below 185 percent of the federal poverty level or those enrolled in Medicaid are eligible for our services. WIC provides essential resources, including special checks for purchasing healthy foods from authorized vendors, comprehensive nutrition assessments, health screenings, and valuable education on breastfeeding and nutrition. Our caring team also offers referrals to additional health and social services to further support your family's needs. To determine eligibility and apply for WIC services, you can start with the WIC Eligibility Assessment on Georgia's WIC website, but remember that your local WIC agency will confirm your eligibility and guide you through the application process.
