Youth Villages - Inner Harbour Campus provides residential treatment for children and adolescents ages 6-17 facing serious mental health and behavioral challenges. Located on a sprawling 1,200-acre wooded property near Atlanta, this specialized facility offers comprehensive care for young people struggling with self-harm, suicidal ideation, problematic sexual behaviors, aggression, psychotic symptoms, and co-occurring disorders, including a dedicated treatment track for substance use issues. The campus employs a trauma-informed approach throughout its programming, helping staff understand and respond to behaviors with appropriate compassion. Treatment includes individual and group therapy, family counseling, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and recreation therapy. Residents live in small groups of 10-12 peers grouped by gender, age, and diagnosis, creating supportive micro-communities within the larger program. Education remains a priority during treatment, with a state-accredited on-campus school providing individualized instruction in small classes. Special education services and speech/language therapy are available for students who need additional support. The natural setting enhances therapeutic opportunities through hiking trails, equine therapy, pet therapy, art therapy, canoeing, yoga, and a ropes course. This combination of structured treatment and enriching activities allows young residents to heal while still experiencing the joys of childhood in a safe, supervised environment.
