About Women, Infants and Children (WIC)
The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Supplemental Nutrition Program in Ellenwood, GA, is dedicated to promoting the health and nutrition of pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, infants, and children up to five years old, including those in foster care. This federally-funded program assists families with incomes at or below 185 percent of the federal poverty level or those enrolled in Medicaid, who may be at risk for nutritional deficiencies. WIC participants benefit from essential services, including nutrition assessments, health screenings, and education, along with special vouchers to obtain healthy food from authorized vendors. To determine eligibility and apply for assistance, families can complete a preliminary assessment online; however, final qualification is determined by the local WIC office. We are here to support families in their journey toward healthier lifestyles and to ensure the well-being of our youngest community members.
