The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship, based in Evans, GA, is dedicated to nurturing a new generation of leaders committed to building a just food system that prioritizes social, environmental, and economic fairness. Sponsored by the Allegheny Mountain Institute, this fellowship offers a comprehensive, tuition-free program designed to make organic food system education accessible to all. Fellows engage in hands-on learning at the Allegheny Farm, where they gain invaluable experience in growing and distributing diverse crops, implementing innovative health care educational sessions, and maintaining community gardens. The fellowship empowers participants to integrate food and ecological literacy into educational settings, support farmers markets, and enhance access to healthy foods through community coalitions. After a six-month immersive training experience, Fellows embark on a Community Action Year, collaborating with local non-profits to apply their newly acquired skills. Interested applicants are encouraged to submit their application by March each year for a program that runs from May to October.
