In Forest Park, GA, the Diabetes Association of Atlanta (DAA) is dedicated to empowering individuals living with diabetes through its Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support (DSMES) classes. These comprehensive, evidence-based classes, recognized nationally by the American Diabetes Association, equip participants with essential knowledge and practical skills to effectively manage their diabetes daily. Focusing on the AADE 7 Self-Care Behaviors—healthy eating, physical activity, self-monitoring, medication management, problem-solving, healthy coping strategies, and risk reduction—our program is designed to foster independence and improve health outcomes. Currently, our DSMES classes are offered free of charge online, making it more accessible than ever for our community to gain vital support and education in their diabetes journey.
