About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Hephzibah, GA is dedicated to fostering a just and sustainable food system through hands-on education and community engagement. This unique program sponsors and trains passionate individuals as they become advocates for social, environmental, and economic equity in food production. Fellows gain invaluable experience through comprehensive training at the Allegheny Farm, where they engage in growing and distributing diverse crops on a market-style farm, implementing innovative health care education, and maintaining school and community gardens. By integrating food and ecological literacy into educational activities, supporting local farmers' markets, and collaborating with non-profits, our Fellows help to create pathways for increased access to healthy food. The Fellowship is designed to be accessible, charging no tuition, ensuring that anyone with a commitment to change can participate. With a six-month immersive experience followed by a Community Action Year, our program cultivates the next generation of leaders committed to transforming food systems in their communities. Applications are accepted until March each year, with the fellowship experience running from May to October.
