At the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Hiram, GA, we are dedicated to cultivating future leaders in the food justice movement through hands-on training and empowerment. Our Fellowship offers a unique, tuition-free opportunity for individuals to immerse themselves in a six-month experiential program at the beautiful Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA. Here, Fellows will explore sustainable agricultural practices, engage with diverse crops through a market-style farm, and learn to advocate for equitable food systems. The program emphasizes the importance of community involvement, enabling Fellows to work with local partners on initiatives such as implementing health-focused educational sessions, maintaining community gardens, promoting food and ecological literacy in schools, and supporting farmers markets. Following their residency, participants will undertake a Community Action Year, collaborating with regional non-profits to apply their newfound knowledge and skills. We invite passionate individuals to apply by March for the experience that runs from May to October, as we strive to create a socially, environmentally, and economically just food system.
