The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Jackson, GA, offers a transformative experience for individuals dedicated to promoting a sustainable and equitable food system. This program empowers Fellows through hands-on education in organic farming practices and integrated food literacy, ensuring they emerge as advocates for social, environmental, and economic justice within their communities. Through this fellowship, participants will engage in vital activities such as growing and distributing diversified crops on market-style farms, leading educational sessions for innovative healthcare solutions, and maintaining community and school gardens. Additionally, they will play a crucial role in supporting farmers markets, developing direct-to-consumer programs, and fostering collaborative efforts within local food coalitions. With tuition-free access to the program, we prioritize inclusivity and strive to enhance community food access through meaningful partnerships with regional non-profit organizations. Fellowship experiences typically last from May to October, following six immersive months at our Allegheny Farm Campus, where selected individuals are prepared to make a lasting impact in their communities.
