About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship
Located in Lithia Springs, GA, the Farm & Food Systems Fellowship empowers individuals to champion a just food system through comprehensive education and hands-on experience. This transformative program is dedicated to training advocates who promote social, environmental, and economic justice within our food systems. Participants engage in six months of immersive, experiential learning at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, without the burden of tuition fees, ensuring accessibility for all. Fellows cultivate diversified crops on a market-style farm, implement health education sessions, and maintain community and school gardens. They also enhance food literacy in educational programs, support local farmers markets, and play a vital role in developing channels to increase access to fresh, healthy food. By collaborating with regional non-profits during their Community Action Year, selected Fellows apply their skills and commitment to uplift and educate their communities. Applications are open until March each year, with the fellowship running from May to October.
