Through a comprehensive, tuition-free program, Fellows engage in hands-on training at the Allegheny Farm in Highland County, VA, focusing on organic food system education and community initiatives that may include growing diverse crops, fostering educational partnerships within healthcare, maintaining gardens, and enhancing food literacy in schools. Each selected Fellow spends six months immersed in experiential learning, followed by a Community Action Year where they apply their expertise by collaborating with regional non-profits. Candidates interested in this transformative fellowship should complete their applications by March of the program year, with experiences running from May through October.
