The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship based in McDonough, GA, is dedicated to empowering individuals with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to advocate for a just and sustainable food system. Through a unique six-month experiential program at the Allegheny Farm Campus in Highland County, VA, Fellows receive comprehensive training in organic food systems, fostering their ability to educate others and implement innovative agricultural practices. The Fellowship supports initiatives such as crop diversification, school and community gardens, and mentoring future leaders in food justice. By removing tuition barriers, we ensure that this vital program is accessible to all. Following their training, Fellows engage in a Community Action Year, working with regional nonprofit organizations to enhance food access, support farmers markets, and integrate ecological literacy into local education. Applications are accepted until March each year, with experiences running from May to October.
