About Women, Infants and Children (WIC)
The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Supplemental Nutrition Program in Riverdale, GA, is dedicated to providing essential health and nutrition support to pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and young children up to the age of five, including foster children. Our program aims to serve families with incomes at or below 185 percent of the federal poverty level or those enrolled in Medicaid who are at risk for nutritional deficiencies. WIC empowers participants by offering special checks for purchasing healthy foods from authorized vendors, comprehensive nutrition assessments, health screenings, education on nutrition, and breastfeeding support. Additionally, we provide referrals to health and social services to ensure families receive the comprehensive support they need. To qualify for WIC, applicants must be low-income and responsible for children under five who face nutritional risks. Prospective participants can take the WIC Eligibility Assessment available on Georgia’s WIC website, but only local WIC offices can confirm eligibility and provide details on necessary documents and appointment scheduling.
