About Women, Infants and Children (WIC)
The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Supplemental Nutrition Program in Rome, GA, is dedicated to promoting the health and well-being of pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, newborns, and young children up to age five, including foster children. This vital program offers food assistance, tailored nutrition education, and health screenings for families with incomes at or below 185 percent of the federal poverty level, or those enrolled in Medicaid, who may be at risk for nutritional deficiencies. WIC provides food vouchers for authorized vendors, supportive resources for breastfeeding, and essential referrals to other health and social services to ensure that every mother and child has access to the nutritious food they need for a healthy start in life. We invite eligible families to explore our services and take a step towards better nutrition and well-being.
