About Women, Infants and Children (WIC)
The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Supplemental Nutrition Program in Savannah, GA, is dedicated to enhancing the health and nutrition of our community's pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, infants, and children up to age five. As a federally-funded initiative, WIC empowers eligible families who meet low-income guidelines by providing essential services to ensure they receive adequate nutrition. Participants benefit from special vouchers to purchase healthy foods at authorized vendors, as well as comprehensive nutrition assessments, health screenings, education on breastfeeding, and referrals to various health and social services. WIC serves those at nutritional risk with income at or below 185% of the federal poverty level. To explore eligibility, families can utilize the WIC Eligibility Assessment online, but must contact the local WIC agency in Savannah for a formal determination and guidance on the required documentation for application.
