About Women, Infants and Children (WIC)

The Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Supplemental Nutrition Program in Thomasville, GA, is dedicated to promoting the health and nutrition of families by providing essential services to pregnant women, new mothers, and young children. Our federally-funded program assists those at risk for nutritional deficiencies, ensuring access to healthy foods and comprehensive support for families with incomes at or below 185 percent of the federal poverty level or those enrolled in Medicaid. WIC offers nutrition assessments, health screenings, educational resources, breastfeeding support, and referrals to additional health and social services, along with special checks for purchasing nutritious foods from authorized vendors. We invite low-income pregnant and postpartum women, as well as guardians of children under five, to reach out for assistance. To determine eligibility, individuals can complete an online WIC Eligibility Assessment on Georgia’s WIC website, but a personal visit to the local WIC agency is necessary for final qualification and guidance on required documentation.
