Clarke County Meals on Wheels, located in Winder, GA, is dedicated to enhancing the lives of older adults and individuals with disabilities by providing essential meal delivery services. Our program supports independent living and helps prevent unnecessary institutionalization by delivering nutritious meals that meet one-third of an adult’s daily dietary requirements, including options for diabetic diets. To qualify for our services, clients must reside in Athens-Clarke County, be at least 18 years of age, and have a physical or mental disability that limits their ability to prepare meals. We serve hot, nutritious lunches Monday through Friday and offer frozen and shelf-stable meals for evenings and weekends to those who need additional support. With the help of over 130 dedicated volunteers, we deliver approximately 180-190 meals daily, along with around 100 frozen meals, ensuring that our nutritionally at-risk clients receive the care they deserve.
