Our Lady of Lourdes Church, one of Chicago’s most diverse congregations, serves as a cornerstone for the local Spanish-speaking community. Established in 1892, this Catholic parish engages parishioners through worship, education in the teachings of Jesus, and community service. Its historic significance is underscored by the dramatic relocation of the church building in 1929 during the Great Depression. Today, the church offers multiple Mass times, including services in Spanish, and fosters an inclusive atmosphere where everyone is encouraged to expand their discipleship. The parishioners actively participate in preserving their church through the Our Lady of Lourdes Church Preservation Society. By addressing spiritual needs and nurturing community bonds, Our Lady of Lourdes Church plays a vital role in enhancing overall well-being in the neighborhood.
