At the FRESH START Diabetes Prevention Program in Elk Grove Village, IL, we are dedicated to empowering adults at risk for diabetes through comprehensive and compassionate support. Offered by Loyola Medicine, MacNeal Hospital, and Gottlieb practices, our program features robust group coaching and individual guidance that teaches essential health education and lifestyle skills. Participants engage with a CDC-approved curriculum designed to facilitate weight loss, increase physical activity, and effectively manage stress. With the expertise of trained lifestyle coaches and encouragement from fellow participants who share similar goals, you’ll receive the tools needed to maintain a healthy lifestyle. To join our year-long program, which includes 16 weeks of weekly sessions followed by bi-weekly and monthly meetings, interested individuals must score 5 or higher on the CDC Self-Assessment Quiz or have a prediabetes diagnosis confirmed by a physician. Currently, all classes are conveniently held online to ensure safety during the COVID-19 pandemic. Together, we can take proactive steps toward a healthier future.
