Foster Street Urban Agriculture Program in Evanston, IL, is dedicated to nurturing a sustainable future by empowering children through hands-on experiences in urban agriculture. Our program not only cultivates fresh produce for our food pantry and Teen Baby Nursery but also imparts valuable skills in gardening, nutrition, and entrepreneurship. Throughout the spring, summer, and fall, participants engage in planting, harvesting, and cooking with the fruits of their labor, learning how to bring their fresh produce to local farmers markets. With a focus on nutrition education and community gardening, we aim to foster a sense of responsibility and connection to healthy food sources within our community.
