The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) in Cherryvale, KS, is dedicated to alleviating food insecurity by providing essential USDA commodity foods to low-income households across the state. With shipments occurring five to six times a year, local organizations facilitate the distribution of nutritious staples such as canned vegetables, fruits, juices, meats, cereals, peanut butter, nonfat dry milk, and pasta, ensuring every household receives a minimum of four and up to ten food items per delivery.
