The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP), run by the Kansas Department for Children and Families, is dedicated to alleviating hunger in Eureka, KS and surrounding areas by providing free USDA commodity foods to low-income households. With shipments arriving five to six times a year, TEFAP ensures that families receive essential nutrition through a variety of foods, including canned vegetables, fruits, juice, meat, cereal, peanut butter, nonfat dry milk, and pasta. Each participating household can receive between four to ten different food items per delivery, helping to meet basic nutritional needs during challenging times.
