About Farm & Food Systems Fellowship

The Farm & Food Systems Fellowship in Hays, KS, is dedicated to cultivating a new generation of leaders who advocate for a just and sustainable food system. Our program offers comprehensive training and empowerment to Fellows, enabling them to become effective educators and advocates in their communities. Through hands-on experiences at our model farm, participants engage in organic food system education, grow and distribute diverse crops, and implement innovative health initiatives. This Fellowship also encourages involvement in school and community gardens while promoting food and ecological literacy. By fostering skills in supporting farmers markets and enhancing access to healthy foods, our Fellows leave a lasting impact on regional food systems. Each selected Fellow embarks on a six-month, immersive training program followed by a Community Action Year, where they apply their knowledge alongside local non-profit partners. Applications are welcomed annually, with a deadline in March, leading into an enriching experience from May to October.
