The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) serves the Hugoton, KS community by providing essential food assistance to low-income households across the state. Operated by the Kansas Department for Children and Families, TEFAP delivers free USDA commodity foods, ensuring that families receive nutritious staples such as canned vegetables, fruits, meats, cereals, peanut butter, nonfat dry milk, and pasta. With shipments occurring five to six times a year to local organizations, we aim to address immediate food needs through a reliable and caring distribution process. Households in need can apply for assistance within their home county, making it easier to access the food pantry services that support their nutrition and well-being.
