The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) in Larned, Kansas, is dedicated to providing vital food assistance to low-income households across the region. Through the Kansas Department for Children and Families, we ensure access to free USDA commodity foods, including essential items like canned vegetables, meat, cereals, and more, delivered five to six times a year to participating organizations for local distribution. Each household can receive between four to ten nutritious food items with every shipment, helping to meet their basic nutritional needs. To benefit from this program, clients are encouraged to apply in their home county, ensuring that support reaches those who need it most as we work together to combat food insecurity in our community.
